AIKIDO
Elegant – Clever – Non-violent
“The secret of Aikido is not how you move your feet, but how you move your mind. I am not teaching you a martial arts technique, I am teaching you non-violence.”
– Morihei Ueshiba

AIKIDO
In AIKIDO one learns to find ways to meet an attack without violence, that is, without answering like with like. You don’t meet an attacker head-on, you don’t try to “go through the wall” with your head and thus further fuel the conflict. One always strives to direct the aggressive energies that rush at us in such a way that no one, neither attacker nor defender, comes to harm.
Weapons training
When training with weapons, we learn to focus, not to be distracted by trivialities. We keep our eye on the target and we look for a way to the target. In Aikido we learn strategies to avoid fighting unnecessary battles and to be strong and prepared when it matters. In Ken Jutsu we sharpen our minds and practice looking into the abyss. When you face each other with two swords, you have to be awake and ready for anything.
